we can solve the water crisis in burundi.

It all starts right here - with you.

Burundi needs us and we need you. Each of our events is an opportunity to provide clean water to those that need it most. Connect to our community here in order to transform lives in a community in Burundi.

RUN FOR THE WATER:

Our Mission. Your Movement For Change. For 18 years running, the Gazelle Foundation has thrown the best race in town. Each November, over 5,000 runners and walkers take to the streets of downtown Austin for the annual Run For The Water 5K, 10-Miler, and Kids K through our beautiful west Austin course.  Read about the 2023 race.

The race benefits the Gazelle Foundation, dedicated to providing clean water to the people of Burundi. Clean water provides a path out of poverty, bringing access to better health, stronger communities, jobs, education, and most of all: hope. For those who prefer to participate in a virtual event, our Global Run is available. For more information: Run For The Water or contact us. Race Date: November 3, 2024 | Registration Opens: April 29

WALK FOR THE WATER:

Partnering with schools across Austin, the Gazelle Foundation helps middle and high school students learn the importance of clean water. Students create fundraising goals and build awareness for the Gazelle Foundation. The culmination of this experience is a “Walk For The Water” event where the students walk the distance traveled by most Burundians to fetch water from a nearby stream. Learn more about our partnership with the Academy of Global Studies at Austin High School. Schools that are not by a water source have used their creativity to raise awareness and funds, in other ways, such as LBJ/LASA and St. Theresa’s Catholic School.

Spring For The Water:

Our annual springtime event celebrates and supports our mission to bring clean water to the people of Burundi. One village at a time.
